Dana B. Thompson

Dana, a Loudoun County native, is an honors graduate from Radford University with a BFA in Art. She worked for 25 years as a Graphic Designer/Art Director winning numerous state and national awards in advertising and printing.
Dana became the Education Director for the Loudoun Academy of the Arts Foundation in Leesburg, VA for four years, then the Design Director for the foundation for four more. She started painting with oils in earnest in 2004.
Now, Dana is an award-winning painter in oils having studied with famed artists, Janet Fish, and acclaimed artists Danni Dawson, Kurt Schwarz and Maggie Siner to name a few. She paints in her Purcellville studio and exhibits her work in local and regional shows and venues. Dana also creates architectural renderings in pen & ink , drawings in Prismacolor and graphite pencil. Dana currently works for sign artist, Patti House, owner of Sign Design in Purcellville. Dana teaches drawing and painting to adults and children as well.
Dana is a member of Oil Painters of America, The Art League in Alexandria, Loudoun Arts Council, the Loudoun Sketch Club and Fine Art Professionals of Northern Virginia.
