V-Anne Evans

As a plein air painter, V-Anne's hope is to convey an emotional response to the pastoral and secluded places she cherishes and to which she returns to over and over. Painting is a devotion and practice of responding to an ever deepening contemplation of these places, and developing a more fluid visual voice, which hopefully connects to some truth and clarity beneath the surface elements of color, light and space.

The artists and teachers who have most influenced her painting include Ron Boehmer, Nancy Bass, Rick Weaver, Frank Hobbs, Edgar Payne, John Carlson, William Langston Lathrop, Richard Schmid, George Inness, Alfred Sisley, Camille Pissaro, and many others.  V-Anne’s oil paintings are done on location predominantly, throughout rural Virginia and beyond.  She lives and works at her home and studio in Keswick, Va.    Commissions are accepted.  V-Anne can be reached through her website at:
