Karen Oliver

Karen Oliver
Collage artist Karen Oliver makes collages in a painterly style using various types of papers, finished with matte media for protection. ”As an artist I try to share the beauty and grace I see in nature or in ordinary life. Representation, but not necessarily realism, prevails in my work.” Karen studied drawing with Charlotte Turner and Randy Michener at NVCC, and went on to teach beginning drawing classes for the Office of Continuing Education, NVCC at the Manassas and Woodbridge campuses from the mid 1990’s through 2002.
Her work has been shown in numerous shows in northern Virginia, including at Artists in Middleburg, Oatlands, Burwell-Morgan Mill, The Piedmont Regional Art Show, Friends of Bluemont Art Show,  Whipped Cream & Other Delights at the Dairy Barn Gallery, the Western Loudoun Artists and Studio Tour, and Artists in Middleburg. She has won multiple awards from Honorable Mentions to Best in Show at various local shows.
She was a member of Arts in the Village Gallery from 2012 – 2017, showed her work at the Purcellville Art Gallery 2019-2020, and was a member at The Gateway Gallery from 2018 - 2021. She has been on the Western Loudoun Studio Artists Tour since 2015.
