Charles has been painting since 2008, when he took his first oil painting class at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center (PFAC) in Newport News, VA with Bryan Murphy. He has since studied under Susan Burgoyne and Karen Spaulding both from the Newport News and Hampton, VA, area. In addition, he has studied with Kay Walton from Abilene, TX. He is diverse in his subject matter which includes landscapes, city and beach scenes, still life, and portraits. He continually challenges himself in various techniques and subject matter.
