Amelia Cheuk

Amelia enjoys the optimal experience of putting paint on canvas. She likes contemporary representational paintings - to render beauty of a landscape, distinctive setting of a Still Life, delightfulness of flowers, or mood of a portrait.

She studied under the instructions of a world-renowned painter and became an instructor at the Art school he founded in Los Angeles, teaching people with or without native abilities to paint representatively.

She has now relocated from L.A. to northern Virginia where she has joined Plein Air groups to regularly paint outdoor at diverse locations.   She also appreciates the privilege of regularly painting at the National Gallery of Art, being one the few granted the museum’s permit to copy directly from the original master paintings.
