Jonathan Hamilton is a self-taught potter. He works with both wild stoneware clay and English porcelain. He has been making pots for over 50 years, using a kick wheel and making glazes from traditional formulas using local materials such as wood ash. His porcelain work is finished in a 24 hour sawdust firing after gold lustre is first fired on the rim.
