Ruth Ward

I am a plein air and studio artist & urban sketcher. I paint in oil, gouache, watercolor, and pastel. I live ten minutes from the Blandy Arboretum.  I'm a member of the Blandy Sketch Group and Blandy Plein Air Group, and the founder of Winchester, Virginia Urban Sketchers.  Most of my work is painted plein air because it is here where I feel the most inspired to paint by the sounds and smells around me.  I'm an especially social artist and enjoy painting with others, and especially love it when people come to watch me paint and they feel what I am feeling.  It is a beautiful thing to share with other people.
