Patsy Cress

Originally from East Tennessee, Patsy S. Cress is a Winchester, Virginia based visual artist that mainly works in acrylics and watercolors. Her work has been displayed in many venues throughout the Shenandoah Valley including the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Burwell-Morgan Mill, ShenArts shows in Winchester and in the Blandy Sketch Group at the Blandy State Arboretum.

Her passion for painting comes directly from her love of nature and old objects and buildings that elicit fond memories and sentimental feelings. She likes to show intricate shapes, textures, and the play of light and shadows on objects. Her goal is to evoke a feeling or memory, tell a story, or inspire an appreciation of nature and things gone by.
