Applying the passion God has given me, I paint themes of the American landscape and small towns. Whether working in the studio or plein-air, I attempt to capture the essence and emotion of a place, time and season. Using thoughtful brushstrokes that soften the edge between realism and impressionism, I emphasize light, color temperature and value.
Growing up in Ohio, my love of art started with drawing cars and trucks. During several visits to Kansas and Tennessee when I was young, I became interested in the countryside and farm scenery. I have painted since high school and in 2021 left an engineering career to pursue art full-time.
My work has received awards in shows by the National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society and Plein Air Magazine Salon and has been accepted to shows by the American Impressionist Society and Oil Painters of America.
