Allison Wiese

Growing up in a lake town in Michigan and migrating to California and Florida coasts, along with my background as a therapist, inform my creative process. Ultimately I try to cultivate a sense of joy with every piece. Portraying water-based subjects while playing with colors, movements, and patterns in big ocean waves is what I am drawn to most. My art is a love letter to and a meditation on everything in and around water. However, the cows in Virginia have started to rub off on me, and muchof my work now falls into the category of "Surf & Turf." I want you to smile when you look at the absurdity and fun of seeing cows or other animals on surf boards! I exhibit regularly in juried shows on the East Coast, and have work up in private homes, galleries and restaurants throughout the US. Most recently I participated in the 34th annual Las Olas Art Fair in Ft. Lauderdale in March 2022 and was very happy to be the artist in residence at Leesburg’s Muz & Rose throughout July and August the past two summers.
